Well another weekend. With all the talk of how bad things are I'm happy to say that I'm happy I'm not having to go through much of this dismay of my fellow sales people.
This is a tough business. The only way a person can survive long term in this business os to treat customers just like you would want to be treated.
By that for the confused I mean treating your customers with respect.
I tire of hearing how smart sales people are. Secondly, for you who may think that your smarter than the customer....YOU ARE WRONG !!
I will admit that many years ago this may have well described myself. After spending so many years in this business, I'm of the opinion that yes, there are many people out there who are just plain jerks. This does not mean that every customer is. I have truly met many fine people through the years. Many of whom I have stayed in contact with.
To all of you who have treated me with respect over the years, I'd like to thank you for being so pleasant. Yes, I have shown favoritism to pleasant people. Yes, people who are rude and impolite I have very little patience with. Chances are they are a miserable sort no matter where they go or who they talk to.
In short, you always get further with sugar than you do with salt.
