It has become quite popular to teach that if you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, you are assured of going to heaven. I've heard it said many times that salvation is a gift to people who simply believe the gospel facts. I have to tell you that this theory of thought encourages everyone who hears that message or believes that message to continue to live in disobedience, hypocrisy and sin by offering the listener a false assurance of salvation.
Self examination is not something that I look forward to. Not if I'm going to be totally honest with myself and with God. In fact it can be quite painful. I've had several people that I've talked with about Christ tell me, "I'm OK with God." My question is, "Is being OK with God enough?" For me personally it is not. My prayer for you is that you never become complacent in your Christian walk. Remember that it is not about us or what we did or are doing.It is all about Jesus and what he did for us!! For that I can rejoice!!
