Where Does our Help Come From?

Psalms 121

:I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber . 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep . 5 The LORD is thy keeper : the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Whenever I read this Psalm I’m encouraged. I think we’ve all had events in our lives where we’ve asked ourselves that question, “Why me, I don’t deserve to have this happen to me.”
Regardless of the circumstances or how trying it may be, there is always hope in Christ Jesus. One of my major faults is that I often try to read into the scripture, what isn’t there.

I’m slowly learning to leave that to others. At least I’d like to believe that I am. But from time to time I really scratch my head when the circumstances seem to be beyond my ability to control them. Remembering that God is the one in control, often slips past me in those times when I feel like things shouldn’t be the way they are. I will continue to come to come to Jesus with all my needs. I’m often troubled when I start to think that living is all about my needs.
You see Jesus came here to earth and sacrificed his life for us. Jesus was not all about
What he could do for himself. He was about doing the Fathers work for the salvation of you and me.

My prayer Today:
Lord Jesus forgive me for being so caught up in my world that I quickly forget that the only reason that I was created was to worship you. Allow my steps today Lord to travel a path that is pleasing to you. Allow me to show love and compassion for my fellow man that is pleasing to you. Thank you Lord for protecting me and other believers around the World Lord.

Thank you for the promises contained in your word. As your word states in Psalms 121:

(7)You will preserve me from all evil, and preserve my sou(8) the Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

Lord allow me to again be acutely aware of those whom I come into contact with who need to hear about you. Quicken my spirit to testify to the unbeliever about what you’ve done for me. In your precious Holy name. Amen
