I desire to do your will....

"I desire to do your will, O my God; your laws are written on my heart."
Psalms 40:8

I seem to find myself writing and thinking about this scripture quite frequently. There are many questions I ask myself daily. This question of "Am I truly doing today what God has designed for me is troubling."
I an thrilled though that I ask myself this question. Mostly because it reminds me that I was created for one thing and one thing only and that is to worship God, and it is the same for you.

I have a couple of friends that I spend a fair amount of time with. I also learn quite a bit from them watching them walk through life. We all have unexpected things that pop up. Whether it's finding a babysitter, wondering if your going to be able to sell your house, or where your next meal is going to come from. We all have these life events to deal with and many are more serious than others.

Last week I met a lady who was interested in buying a dog kennel I had on Craigslist. She was a single mom who has five children. After talking to her for a bit I also found out that her husband had committed suicide right after Christmas. This sure made my problems seem small and insignificant. We were able to witness and pray with this mom that very day.

The point I'm trying to make is that we need to be in prayer about our daily lives. Constantly asking Jesus," What is it that you would have me accomplish today?" Let's be a blessing to those we come into contact with. I might point out that while we patiently wait for Gods response to our prayers, "We can and should love God, serve others, and tell them about Jesus."

My prayer for you this week: Lord instead of us thinking we know what we are to accomplish each day; allow us to remember to ask you which direction we are to travel. Lord Jesus, I recognize that without your guidance and direction, I'm like a ship on the sea without a rudder or compass. Quicken my spirit Lord to the things in life that will glorify you. That is the cry of my heart . To love you and serve you. Amen
