Yes, It's Personal

We've all heard the phrase, "Don't take it personally." Usually after you've offended someone, or you've been offended by someones behavior. I've often heard this said and thought, " If you didn't mean to offend the other individual, then why would you have said such a thing to start with." Relationships can be funny to deal with. Whether they are family members or friends. One thing is for certain and that is  there are always costs associated with relationship. In some cases we decide that the cost is to high, and therefore we end the relationship. Whether that be friendships or marriages, we make the conscious decision to end the relationship.
Then of course I got to thinking about how many times God must of been offended by my behavior or something I said. The thought I had was, "Does God take it personally?" Stick with me on this thought.
When God spoke creation in existence from nothing, he did just that. He spoke. When you look at Genesis chapter 2 God did things a little differently when he created man. Lets look at this passage. Genesis 2:7 says, "the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living thing." So what does this mean? It means after he spoke the rest of creation into existence, he stopped, scooped up some clay, and breathed into it. He didn't just speak us into existence. So right from the start I see that God was about relationship. Did God take it personally? Absolutely, and without question. He took special pleasure in coming to the Garden to visit with Adam. God invested in that relationship. So why is it even today, that we have the opportunity to have a personal relationship with the Living God, and we choose our own devices. One word sin. Does God still seek relationship with us today? Absolutely. God is looking for people who are willing. Willing to worship him in spirit and in truth. This kind of worship is impossible for those who knowingly continue to proclaim they are saved, yet continue to hide their sins. Those on the other hand who are wiling to confess their sins are free from the bondage of  sin and will find a Saviour who is not only willing to forgive them, but also to liberate them from the sins of the past.
The thirst for more of Jesus will be the only thirst you'll have. How refreshing! True Worship.

Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to the Lord,
And he will has compassion on him;
And to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:7

In closing, "What has sin done for you today? Are you tired of  life seeming like it is a never ending battle?
That emptiness that loneliness of heart? Ask Jesus into your heart today. You may thirst, but it will only be for more of Jesus and his love for you. Relationship with the Living God, it doesn't get any better than this.
"Yes, it's Personal."
